Another idea I had but haven't pursued was to just make basically a mirror coomer api scraping and allowing a userbase to scrape and submit to a new site as much as possible as well since the ddos stuff makes it a nightmare and i think their pagination hits a limit vs actual posts.

And then having a site that mirrors coomer but with a userbase uploading especially the longer videos to various filehosts but displayed in a similar way. And having a proper db with metadata for filtering and much better search. Basically just don't deal with hosting any data other than text and metadata and providing a much better frontend.

If someone wanted to pony up for a db server, could probably crawl the current site database for restructuring. It might take a week to continuously fetch and restructure the data and then wed need to create views and rest endpoints for allowing clients like the desktop app to access and use. Could then use the new structure to allow adding different mirrors for files as they get moved across.

a python script i'm cooking up to crawl creator profiles for posts and attachments, it also auto flags posts and increases its effectiveness the more spam it comes across. it still crawls the posts but won't bother wasting resources crawling files/file meta on high confidence spam.



writing a seed mode to crawl through couple of pages of each spam tag to generate spam signatures and flag creators.
based on my estimates 1/5 of all coomer.st content is spam from hacked accounts. I'll hand this off to anyone interested in actually mirroring the database on coomer. database itself may be half a terabyte conservatively.

I did think of one more thing - ability to copy a pic/vid link. I'm having a very hard time getting FolderWatch to work and being able to copy a link would make it a lot easier, maybe as a third option in the file pane drop-down after 'save' and 'send to jdownloader'. Just a thought, thanks!

Do you have the correct directory set? The default path in the app settings might have a typo saying jdownloader 2.0 instead of jdownloader 2

Ah! That seemed to fix it, although when it showed up in linkgrabber it showed as an offline file. I went to the page via Chome, copied the link to that same video, and downloaded from there with no problem. Could be an issue with JDownloader so I'll confirm I'm doing that side correctly.

Content Type filtering and video duration display/ filter almost ready for rollout. Just testing now
