CottontailVA is a much beloved and championed Lewdtuber, VTuber, Voice Actress and Streamer. She's lent her distinct voice to countless games and animations and brought her thousands of fans thousands of hours of entertainment over the years. In the eyes of many, she's one of THE Lewdtubers up there with Mel herself.
In 2024 Cotton achieved a huge amount - new models, new friends, new "volunteers", weight loss, fighting her depression and anxiety, and escaped a truly shitty VTuber talent agency. She's also taken great strides to shout out and shill the Canadian Lewdtuber and NSFW VA scene and her fellow VTuber friends. All whilst (mostly) consistently balancing her SFW and NSFW content output.
It's no surprise that she was voted as highly as she was in both the Primaries and the Finals.

BAO / HOEJOUSAMA

When you think about it, Bao has had such an insane rollercoaster of a career. Debuting as VSinger (remember when Bao was supposed to just be a singer?) back in 2020, then morphing into more of a variety streamer, then doing nothing but sponsorships, then disappearing for long stretches of time, coming back, getting scammed, getting beaten up by her abusive boyfriend, hiatus, becoming an IRL streamer, back to being a VTuber and now, finally, settling as a Lewdtuber. Not even Nostradamus could've predicted it.
Bao's Fansly debut rocked a lot of people's worlds and introduced a significant chunk of them, particularly on this forum, to the very concept of Lewdtubing. It's probable that her debut being so close to the initial poll influenced her placing, but even if they were further apart, her audience seems truly enamoured by her completely degenrate kinky nature juxtaposed against her softer, subbier, goofy side.
Much like Cotton, Bao achieved second place in both the Primaries and the Finals.

Is anyone surprised? Ally's talent, passion, dedication and charm has catapulted her onto everyone's radars this last year. Though she might have debuted as a Lewdtuber in 2023, her former GWA pedigree and truly heroic output on Twitch and Fansly (whilst juggling a University course) has neatly etched herself into the hearts, minds and dicks of a stupendous number of people. I knew deep down in my heart she would never win it, but I was legitimately shocked she didn't get a nomination at Filian's VTuber Awards. Luckily the 'experts' were here to right that wrong.
There's nothing else to be said really. She was #1 in the Primaries and the Finals.

POSTING FANSLY VODS ON SIMP CITY FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN VTUBER FANS
"THE MCKENZIE METHOD"​
We're nearly half way through 2025 and just as we've seen a noticeable rise in the number of VTubers who are starting to make waves streaming on Fansly we're also seeing a noticeable rise in the number of people in our burgeoning community who want to record and share recordings of those VODs.

In order to help them out, I thought I'd write some quick documentation of "The McKenzie Method", a step by step guide on how I like to record streams using some straightforward tools, upload them onto hosts and then the best etiquette for posting them on site.

0) DEPENDENCIES
N.B - the tools in this guide are OS agnostic but certain instructions are assuming the user is on Windows​
For this we'll need to install two pieces of software - ffmpeg and agnosto's fansly-scraper;
ffmpeg is the backbone of countless tools on the internet and is just really great to have - I encourage you to experiment with it
fansly-scraper is a decent fansly scraper tool, but it shines in being a very easy to use recorder too, particularly for non-technical users
Both of these are CLI (command line interface) tools, but no intimate knowledge of CLI is required for you to do this.

Download and extract both archives. Move them to a location in file explorer that's convenient for you. Remember you can copy the file path from file explorer.
  1. Next you'll want to add both to your to your PATH. To do this via the UI :
    Control Panel -> Search -> Edit the System Environment Variables
  2. In the new window click "Environment Variables"
    In the dialog box labelled "Variables" click "Path"
    Click "New"
  3. Copy paste in the file path of the executable for ffmpeg e.g. C:/Users/Anon/Tools/ffmpeg/bin
  4. Click "Ok"
  5. Click "New"
  6. Copy paste in the file path of the executable for ffmpeg e.g. C:/Users/Anon/Tools/fansly-scraper/
Now that's done we can start using them!

1) SETTING UP THE FANSLY RECORDER​
Navigate to fansly-scraper.exe, wherever you moved it to in file explorer, and double click. A terminal window will pop up and crash out.
Don't worry, what it's done has created a .toml file for you to edit in your roaming appdata.

In your file explorer address bar type %appdata% to be taken to your roaming appdata
  1. Click on the "fansly-scaper" folder
  2. Right click on "config.toml" -> Edit in Notepad
This file is the configuration template for the tool. There's some empty fields to fill in to get it to work and some bits you can customise.

For the field "auth_token" you'll need to input your Fansly auth token
  1. Log in to Fansly
  2. Open your browser's dev tools (Right Click -> Inspect)
  3. Navigate to the "Storage" tab
  4. Click "Local Storage" -> fansly.com
  5. Under "key" click "session_active_session"
  6. Copy the value for "token"
  7. Paste it into config.toml
Do not share your auth token!

For the field "user_agent" you'll need to get your browsers user agent string
  1. Open your browser's dev tools (Rigt Click -> Inspect)
  2. Navigate to the "Console" tab
  3. Type navigator.userAgent
  4. Copy the returned string
  5. Paste it into config.toml

Those two fields are the only two mandatory ones to get the tool to work, the remaining fields are customiseable to your own preferences. Eg. save_location is the filepath of where you want the recordings to be saved to etc. I encourage you to go through the options and think about whether or not you want them enabled.

2) USING THE FANSLY RECORDER​
With the config set up as you like it, it's time to start recording. How the tool works is that you add Fansly accounts to a list, then it continuosly checks if they are live. If they are, it starts recording! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

To add accounts to the list -
  1. Open up your command line terminal
  2. Type fansly-scraper -m ebiko and hit enter
  3. It will return a message saying the account has been added to the monitoring list
  4. To remove her from the list just type fansly-scraper -m ebiko again
You can add as many or as few accounts to this list as you want, but be aware of resource bottlenecks such as your network strength and processing power if you intend to record multiple streams at once.

To start checking if a stream is live -
  1. Open up your command line terminal
  2. Type fansly-scraper monitor start

The check will now work in the background so long as the terminal window is open. If you close the window it'll end and you'll have to start the monitor again.

And that's it! When a stream goes live it'll automatically start recording it and save the file to wherever you set the save_location variable to.

3) REENCODING THE VOD​
When the recording is finished you'll notice that the file size is huge and the file type is .ts (unless you specified something else in the config).
In its current state, it's not good enough to upload and post on the site. We'll need to remux or transcode it into a proper video container. To do this we use ffmpeg.

To remux the .ts file -
  1. Navigate to where the .ts is saved in File Explorer
  2. Right Click the window -> Open in Terminal
  3. Type ffmpeg -i "[paste the name of the .ts here]" -crf 23 output.mp4 (or .mkv or whatever container you want)
What this will do it will begin to remux the file into a proper video container without changing the codec or the quality - so it'll still be x264. This process will take a while and is dependent on how powerful your computer is (it's not recommended to do this on a laptop or older rig)

We can also transcode it into a new container and a better video codec. This can be useful to keep file sizes low without sacrificing quality.

To transcode the .ts file (into AV1) -
  1. Navigate to where the .ts is saved in File Explorer
  2. Right Click the window -> Open in Terminal
  3. Type ffmpeg -i "[paste the name of the .ts here]" -c:v libsvtav1 -crf 35 output.mp4 (or .mkv or whatever container you want)

N.B - AV1 transcoding is more resource intensive that a remux and therefore is also not recommended to do on weaker setups

After you've converted the .ts, rename it to something sensible and you're ready to upload!

4) UPLOADING THE VOD​
Simp City has several approved hosts for content, but unfortunately for longform VODs the only two we can really use are GoFile and bunkr.

Posting on GoFile is very straight forward, just drag and drop. There's no file size limit either so go nuts.
The downside is that there's also no file protection against things like DMCAs

bunkr is a more secure host, but it's (currently) invite only and has a size limit of 2GB.
We can get around this by segmenting our VOD into <2GB chunks

To do this with ffmpeg -
  1. Navigate to where the VOD is saved in File Explorer
  2. Right Click the window -> Open in Terminal
  3. Type ffmpeg -i "[paste VOD name here.mp4]" -threads 3 -c copy -f segment -segment_time 01:00:00 -reset_timestamps 1 part_%02d.mp4 This will break the VOD into 1hr long chunks, experiment with -segment_time to find chunks that are within the right file size range
  4. Rename those chunks something sensible and start uploading

5) VOD POSTING ETIQUETTE​
Once you've got links to your uploads you're ready to post, but there's a few pieces of etiquette to learn first if you want to be a good contributor.

5.a.) When posting, make sure you include the date, the resolution and any other information about the recording
e.g May 5th Fansly stream (1080p) Missing the first few minutes.
Don't write War and Peace, but a little line helps people search the thread and understand the condition of the video they're clicking on.

5.b.) For VOD recordings it's not required, but highly encouraged to include a highlight clip, a contact sheet or even just a couple screenshots to give people a general idea of what happens in the VOD.
Streams are long and this gives people context, a little taste of what to expect and will keep your post alive in case your host goes down. (Also it gives you way more updoots if you care about that lol)

We can easily use ffmpeg to cut a clip from a VOD (You can do this whilst your VOD is being uploaded to your host)
  1. Navigate to where the VOD is saved in File Explorer
  2. Right Click the window -> Open in Terminal
  3. Type ffmpeg -ss 00:00:00 -to 00:05:00 -i "[paste VOD name here.mp4]" clip.mp4
    -ss is the beginning timestamp -to is the end, so this clips the first 5 minutes of the VOD etc

Next upload that clip onto saint by clicking the "Upload videos" button when posting on Simp City. Saint uses your Simp City login credentials.
N.B - Saint has a filesize limit of 250MB, so make sure the clip is less than that. If it's larger, you can cut a shorter clip, compress the clip (within reason) or use Cyberdrop as your host

5.c) If someone has uploaded a VOD but only used GoFile or another finnicky host, consider mirroring it on bunkr. Don't mirror it onto any other hosts as it'll get deleted.

5.d) And if you really want to show true heroism - timestamps of key events in the VOD are greatly appreciated.

Normally this is where you'd see a Tech Guide or Open Question or what have you. But because it's been almost a month I wanted to use this opportunity to instead write a piece of whats happened since the site got nuked, where we're at now and what's gonna happen going forward.
Fair warning - it's basically a metapost about the site and a blogpost about my thoughts regarding that, so if you don't want to read the autistic ramblings of a man who likes pornographic vtubers feel free to just skip it. Back from hell, but we took a part of it with us​
Internet forums are funny things. There's this prevailing notion that people only browse one specific forum and that those sites are inherently insular, with no overlap to the outside. For example, you might have a poster who claims they only browse Reddit, they are a Redditor through and through, but the reality is that they likely post or at least browse on many different forums.
VTubers have gained a lot of ubiquity over the last few years but discussion forums for them are still very niche. As a result of that and the above phenomenon, we see a big overlap in posters. It's no secret that Simp City has a lot of overlap with sites like *Blacklisted site*, Reddit and /vt/. They do their shitposting their and then come here to crank it. It's the circle of life.

I like lewdtubers. Surprise, surpise right? One thing that does bug me about lewdtubing, though, is just how invisible it is; you ask the average vtuber fan to name some lewdtubers and they'll be able to name one or maybe two - and one of those two will be Mel. Part of the reason I think this is the case is because there is no place to actively discuss lewdtubers or lewdtubing. There are a few small feifdoms here and there but no consolidated place to discuss, discover and shill them. AVtubers are in a similar boat, but at least they have a few JP forums to work with.
Back in 2022, I actually tried a couple times to get a lewdtuber general off the ground on /vt/, but it never stuck. There were myraid reasons for it and, frankly, 2022 was such a dogshit year for lewdtubing that I dont blame anyone for not wanting to take part. And after that I did what all lewdtuber fans did - wandered the internet trying to eke out any discussion that I could.

A few months ago, after realising that there were a lot of lurking lewdtuber fans on site, I created this thread and the Megathread and we saw some real success with it. It might sound corny but I was proud of what we had built - this thread, the Megathread and the little community we had started to cultivate. And I know other people agree - we had a lot of participation for something so niche and I actually got a few DMs from lurkers thanking me and telling me they discovered new creators as a result.

Then the nuke happened. If you're completely new, at the beginning of July the forum suffered a (preventable) hardware fault and lost 3 months of data. In a cosmic coincidence this thread and the Megathread were only 3 months old and were completely vaporised. And I wont lie, that shit hit me hard.
I said this before but losing "content" isn't the end of the world - nothing on the internet is ever really gone, somebody somewhere has it - but discussions and interpersonal interactions cant be recovered. All the cultures and rituals, shitposts and memes were just lost. We can re-post them all but it won't be the same. There's been a shift in soul.
And that's what burns my ass about all this - you can check the nuke bitching threads and the prevailing complaint is that people lost reaction score. But that's just a number, it means nothing. Seeing something you put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into get razed cuts me deep.

So with that, the worry that another nuke will happen (staff have assured us it wont, but it happened with SMG and TB before) and we'll just lose it all again, the increase in low quality in posts in the vtuber threads and the huge surge in users trying to claim my uploads as their own post-nuke (I know this is a pirate site and there's 'no honor among theives' but c'mon at least use your own hosts for my shit), I've sorta lost my mojo.

This isn't a resignation, I'm not "quitting" or anything. I don't subscribe to the notion that the internet is an airport and you have to announce your departure - when I leave I'll just stop posting one day lol. I'll keep sharing content, maintaining this thread, content threads and the Megathread and of course you can ping me in a thread or DM me and I'll respond. But I guess I've just become disillusioned to my dream that Simp City could be the lewdtuber forum I've been searching for.
